Private Cloud CRM Plans

xRM offers 3 private cloud hosting plans designed to meet the needs of small, medium and enterprise scale businesses. Each plan can be customized to meet any specific need. Our private cloud hosting plans offer the following advantages over the public cloud. Please click on any item to see more details.

All our private cloud plans are provisioned with virtual machines dedicated to servicing just your Microsoft Dynamics CRM application. All virtual machines include redundant storage with replication to a disaster recovery facility. Minimum specifications for our virtual machines are listed below:

  • Windows Server Standard 2012 R2 (Windows 2008 R2 available upon request)
  • 8 CPU cores
  • 8GB RAM
  • 100GB storage

HyperV

Our SQL server instances are provisioned on physical machines. This removes the traditional virtualization layer providing additional performance. All SQL instances include synchronous writes to a passive node on redundant storage, and asynchronous writes to the disaster recovery facility. Minimum specifications for our SQL database instances are listed below:

  • Windows Server Standard 2012 R2
  • SQL Server 2014 Enterprise Edition (SQL Server 2012 Enterprise Edition available upon request)
  • 8 CPU cores
  • 8GB RAM
  • 50GB storage

SQL

All private cloud plans include at least one dedicated Microsoft Dynamics CRM server. xRM can provide the following access to all CRM servers to appropriate individuals within your organization:

  • Access to CRM server over terminal services
  • Administrative access to the operating system
  • Deployment Administrator access to the CRM Installation
  • Reporting Services administrator access to the SQL Reporting Services installation

All private cloud plans include at least one dedicated Microsoft SQL Server database instance. xRM can provide the following access to all database instances to appropriate individuals within your organization:

  • Access to SQL database via SQL Management Tools on CRM server
  • The sysdba privilege on the SQL database instance
  • Reporting Services administrator access to the SQL Reporting Services installation

SQL database access is not traditionally available with most hosting providers. This access opens several new possibilities for your Microsoft Dynamics CRM deployment. A few examples are listed below:-

  • Access CRM filtered views for reporting and programming enabling far superior performance and without the limitations of FetchXML.
  • Ability to create custom databases alongside your CRM database for even greater integration and reporting options.
  • Ability to create custom indexes to target poorly performing queries and keep CRM running optimally.
  • Access to SQL Integration Services as an option for custom integrations with appropriate line of business applications.

Due to the unprecedented access to the Microsoft Dynamics CRM server installation, you can now install and configure compatible 3rd party solutions and services on your CRM server. No longer do you need to subscribe to additional services to host CRM tools like Scribe, ADX Studios, E-mail Router, etc. You can simply install and run them from your dedicated CRM server.

With our private cloud CRM offering you can choose to deploy CRM to your own domain. This creates a more consistent experience for your end users. Instead of having to connect to a generic URL like customername.crm.dynamics.com you can now connect to crm.yourdomain.com. This feature does require an SSL certificate for the custom domain. You can either provide the SSL certificate, or xRM can obtain one on your behalf.

In order to provide an even more consistent experience for your end users, our private cloud offerings now include Single Sign On at no additional cost. As required by Microsoft, Active Directory Federated Services is utilized as the authentication service on the xRM network. Our customers can leverage any compatible claims provider to enable users to log in to the Microsoft Dynamics CRM application with their existing usernames and passwords. A typical configuration is show below for a customer with an On-Premise Microsoft Active Directory implementation.

ADFS

As part of any deployment there will always be a need for troubleshooting issues as they arise. Whether it be due to new software, a new configuration or data changes your application will evolve and produce unexpected behaviors as a result. Being able to track down and resolve such issues are crucial to providing a stable and productive environment.

At xRM we provide a wealth of self service troubleshooting tools. Due to the unprecedented access you have to the servers in the private cloud, you will be able to investigate server event logs, log files and trace files. You will even be able to enable and access verbose logs for Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

xRM can also provide access to extended application monitoring tools to ensure the optimal operation of your environment with proactive alerts and maintenance suggestions. Our full suite of troubleshooting and maintenance tools and services include:

  • Real time Windows and SQL monitoring
  • Short term (7 days) repository of monitoring snapshots (every 5 minutes)
  • Trend analysis for SQL server to isolate troublesome workloads and proactive maintenance
  • External real browser transactions to monitor performance and availability from over 120 countries worldwide
  • Browser agents to monitor performance and availability from any customer location
  • Application performance agents to track deep performance metrics at every level of the application - from the client machine all the way down to the database

As the private cloud environment is dedicated to servicing just your application you have greater control over how and when scheduled maintenance is to be performed. The only exception to this is the application of exploitable security vulnerabilities which could obviously compromise the integrity of your environment. You will be able to determine your own schedule for such items as:

  • Windows Updates
  • Service Packs
  • CRM Updates
  • CRM version upgrades
