Software plus Services
Many years ago, before Microsoft coined the term Software plus Services, xRM made a huge commitment to the cloud. For us it was clear that cloud computing was a huge part of the future and it would be only a matter of time for our customers to make the same conclusion. To our pleasant surprise, customers were aggressively looking to leverage a hosted model for certain services. Even though we were not using the term Software plus Services five years ago, it is precisely what we were doing and continue to do to this very day. In fact, our commitment to the cloud and to Software plus Services has grown even stronger and the options we are giving our customers today are downright awesome.
As a services company providing traditional consulting, adding application hosting was a paradigm shift in our business. Five years ago when we made the decision to embrace application hosting and combine with our services offerings is was foreseen as a risky proposition. Today, hindsight being what it is, we credit our decisions to what is now know as Software plus Services and to our thriving business.
To keep things simple, Software plus Services is the best of both worlds and is the best of everything technology has to offer. Giving our customers the ultimate power of choice and flexibility, yet allowing them to mitigate risk and pain is precisely what we are delivering with our Software plus Services practice.
While working in the cloud has garnered tremendous interest and momentum, not every application is best consumed in the Software as a Service (SaaS) model. Additionally, what makes the SaaS model so appealing is when you add services to the equation, i.e., Software plus Services. The internet and technology have become ubiquitous to our businesses. The ability to run certain applications in the cloud, other applications on-premise, and blend in services and/or human resources (onshore, offshore, contract, outsourced, staff augmentation, etc.), while controlling intellectual property and staying clear of large capital outlays on depreciating assets, is all possible via Software plus Services.
However, knowing how to approach and leverage Software plus Services efficiently and effectively is an art form. This is precisely what xRM can do for your business and to this end; we have two flavors of Software plus Services; the public cloud, and the private cloud.
Our public cloud offering revolves around Microsoft hosted services, also known as Azure. Our private cloud offering revolves around our own hosted services, all of which are controlled from end to end by xRM.
The great news is that even though we are providing choices as to where and whom hosts the application(s), the software publisher and the technology behind the hosting is all the same software publisher – Microsoft. Furthermore, the applications are all the same.
