Why Microsoft?
Why CRM? More specifically, why Microsoft CRM? First and foremost, the answer lies in the Platform and the Power of Choice. By this we mean that by tethering the business and operational needs of your company to the Microsoft Platform – which has now grown to a unified, robust and comprehensive system that is multi-functional right out of the box – you are able to leverage an enormous amount of intellectual effort for the past twenty years that has truly paid off. The concept of the Platform actually goes far beyond Microsoft CRM in the sense that the entire stack of Microsoft products that are so familiar to us all – Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, as well as the new Office Communicator, plus the majority of Microsoft server and Microsoft Dynamics products – are now interoperable in a way that is so seamless as to be virtually invisible to the end-user. It simply … works. And on many, many levels. The Power of Choice provides you as the administrator and decision-maker the very best method of deployment, much of which may depend on the users in your organization.
An example of the Power of the Platform: A user who has spent the last eleven years using Microsoft Outlook comes to work on the day after a major Microsoft CRM software deployment and notices … no major changes. Why? Because CRM software appears to this user as a natural and very convenient "Extension" of Microsoft Outlook, the product she knows and loves. When she needs to find the information she wants as it relates to the problem at hand, she delves into the CRM software interface as it appears, which is as a simple subset of folders exceedingly rich in well-organized information, and with tremendous querying capability. At the same time she is by no means intimidated by the interface, since she is already intimately familiar with the essential elements. This user will have very little trouble adopting the new system, since it lives just under the surface of the software interface that she has called home for the last eleven years. That's a quick example of the Power of the Platform.
